There is a Progressiv­e 45 Card Game this Sunday, March 8, in Roundwood Parish Hall starting at 7 p.m. Sharp. Excellent Prize Money with raffle and Refreshmen­ts at the interval. Everyone welcome.

FAMILY FUN TABLE QUIZ

Stagebratz Starz are hosting a Family Fun table quiz and Monster Raffle on March 28 at 2 p.m. in Lynham’s Hotel Laragh. A fun-filled afternoon of quizzing, spot prizes and a performanc­e from our Starz. table quiz open to all ages. There are fabulous prizes available in our Monster Raffle (including €100 vouchers for the Bord Gais Theatre and Seafield Hotel and Spa) lines on sale from members of Stagebratz, Keith Grant Butchers and the Green Room.

PLOUGHING MATCH.

Roundwood Ploughing Society is now holding their annual ploughing match on Saturday, March 21.

BINGO

Fun Bingo will take place on in the Annamoe Centre on Sunday, March 8, from 3 p.m. Family members and friends are more than welcome to attend. €5 per book and great raffle prizes. Come along and enjoy.

ACTIVE RETIRED NIGHT OUT

Roundwood Active Retirement is organising a night out to ‘The priests on April 4 next in the RDS which is in aid of the Peter McVerry Trust. The cost for the bus and ticket will be €50. COMHALTAS IRISH MUSIC AND DANCE CLASSES.

Learn traditiona­l Irish music and dance with an award-winning Comhaltas branch (guitar, fiddle, flute, tin whistle and grúpa ceoil). Classes are held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday nights in St Laurence O’Toole NS, Roundwood the second term runs from January to May. Performanc­es, workshops and outings take place throughout the year. DIAMOND BRIDGE CLUB.

Winners for North/South on Monday, February 24, were Nancy O’Brien and Bridie Nolan, second Ger Lenihan and Rowena Brady, third Maria Magee and Judy Skates and fourth Monica Brady and Brid Clancy. Margaret Bolger and Paddy O’Brien secured first place for East/West, second Catherine McGillycud­dy and Phil Power third Teresa Leahy and Marian Davies and fourth Catherine Halligan and Pamela Byrne.

002 BRIDGE CLUB.

First place for North/South on Friday, February 28, were Liz Belton and Phil Kenna, joint June 2 Digby and Monica Brady and Catherine McGillyCud­dy and Nancy O’Brien and fourth Ger Lenihan and Paddy O’Brien. KNOCK PILGRIMAGE

There will be a pilgrimage to Knock on Saturday, April 25, leaving Laragh at 7.45 a.m. and Roundwood at 8 a.m. The cost is €70 per person which includes bus, breakfast and dinner in Tyrrells Pass Castle. All money to be paid in full before April 1, 2010, to Susan at 087 6273032.

ROAD TO ROUNDWOOD

A local group is being set up to give a helping hand to those displaced in one of the world’s largest humanitari­an crisis of our time. The Syrian Civil War has resulted in 11 million displaced Syrians. The Road to Roundwood is a community sponsorshi­p project which will help a family integrate into our community in Roundwood rather than enter direct provision. IRISH NIGHT

There will be an Irish night in the parish hall on Saturday, March 14, for St Patrick’s weekend starting at 7 p.m. A great night of singing, storytelli­ng, ceili and set dancing and lots of music for all the family. Everyone is invited to show off been Irish.

LADIES FITNESS CLASSES

Ladies Fitness classes are at 7.15 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday in the parish hall and are open to ladies of all ages and abilities. The classes are five euro drop-in classes. Anyone interested can call me at 087 6035780 for more informatio­n.
