TAI CHI/QI GONG CLASSES

Tai Chi/Qi Gong Classes are on Wednesday mornings from 11 a.m. to midday in Annacurra Community Centre. Learn gentle flowing healing movements that help to relieve stress, and improve flexibilit­y and mobility. Beginners welcome. Cost: €80 for a block of eight classes.

Our Pottery Course continues on Mondays from 10 a.m. to midday. Line Dancing takes place on Friday mornings in the Parish Hall from 11 a.m. Monday morning walks continue from 10.30 a.m., followed by coffee and a chat.

BOWLING CHAMPION

Aughrim bowling club extends congratula­tions to Anne Tallon, who retained her Indoor Bowls Ladies title winning the Newtown Tray again when the 2020 competitio­n was held in Newtown on Saturday last. This is the fourth year in a row for the Newtown Tray to come to the Aughrim bowling club. Anne first won the title in 2017, her neighbour Anne Moules succeeded her when shen won in 2018. Anne Tallon came back to win in 2019 and she retained her title on Saturday last. Well done, Anne.

TAI CHI/QI GONG CLASSES

Tai Chi and Qi Gong Classes continue on Wednesday evenings 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Beginners welcome. Qi Gong (Specific) Tuesday evenings from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. – which incorporat­es the beautiful Crane Method and the Taoist Yoga System.

Learn gentle flowing healing movements that help to relieve stress, improve flexibilit­y and mobility. This is a powerfully healing practice which helps to relieve stress from the nervous system and enhance the health of the whole body and develops your being.

WALKATHON EVENT

There are only two weeks left till our inaugural 24-hour Walkathon event. It takes place on March 13 and 14. Many teams have signed up for the event and they would appreciate your sponsorshi­p. This is our main fundraisin­g event for the year and your support and generosity would be greatly appreciate­d. There are many sponsorshi­p cards in the locality. Thank you all in advance.

The numbers 6, 15, 20 and 21 were drawn in this week’s Aughrim Sports club lotto February 24 the jackpot was not won. Match-three winners were Kevin and Margaret Brown, Jean Fleming, The Gap and Helen Driver, Rathdrum. The jackpot is €5,250. The weekly lotto supports Aughrim camogie club, Aughrim GAA club, Aughrim Rangers Soccer club and Aughrim sports complex. People, who support the weekly lotto are lending support to the local sports clubs who are very much part of the community.

TOWN AND COUNTRY MARKET

Aughrim Town and country market are back in action after the Christmas break. The market is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Pavilion, Rednagh Road. Enjoy the buzz in the Pavilion Cafe as you catch up with friends over coffee and treats. Delicious brunches and light lunches are also on offer. Fresh local produce available, including organic fruit and vegetables, locally produced meat, eggs, preserves and fresh home baked bread and cakes.
