New collection of works for Arklow
The Arklow Visual Arts Gallery’s next exhibition will feature new work from the Ballyrogan collective.
Paintings by Andrew, Attracta and Sarah Eva Manson will open in the gallery on Monday, March 9, with a night with the artists taking place on Thursday, March 12 from 6 p.m.
Sarah Eva Manson completed a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art from the National College of Art and Design, in 2012. Her work has been collected by AXA insurance, the Royal College of Surgeons and is housed in numerous private collections.
Attracta Manson’s works are collected by the Office of Public Works, Department of Foreign Affairs and other private collections. She has been selected for exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Attracta is a co-founder of Ballyrogan House and lives and works on site.
Andrew Manson specializes in fine art painting but also works in photography, performance, and film. Andrew’s works have been selected for the RHA in 1982, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Andrew is the founder of Ballyrogan House and works and lives there.
The exhibition continues until Friday, March 20.
Mermaid Arts Centre is holding a dementia friendly gallery talk for people living with dementia, their family, friends and carers.
The talk will take place on Thursday, March 12 at11 a.m. and admission is free.
This will be a light gallery talk exploring Susan Montgomery’s exhibition, followed by a cup of tea and coffee.
Participants can expect a warm welcome, a seated tour of the gallery and an engaged discussion through exchange of ideas and thoughts.
No experience of visual arts is necessary.
