Arklow Open a huge success yet again!
ARKLOW RACQUETBALL CLUB hosted the 35th Arklow Open at the Coral Leisure Centre recently. The weekend was a huge success with some outstanding, nail-biting racquetball being played.
The club would like to start off by thanking the Bridgewater Shopping Centre in Arklow for sponsoring the event. They would also like to thank the following local businesses for their contributions towards the raffle and refreshments for the players: Carraig Donn, La Cafe, Superdrug, Boots, Intersport Elverys, Safura, Merck, Kenny’s of the Harbour Bar and the Dainty Bakery.
‘We would like to thank Coral Leisure Centre Arklow and Coolboy Handball Club for the use of their facilities. Thanks to Hilda in the Seaview Coffee Shop who provided refreshments over the weekend,’ they said.
‘We would like to thank each of the committee members for the part they played in organising the competition. Without your dedication we would not have pulled it off.
‘Finally, we would like to thank all of the players for making the journey to Arklow and for making it such an enjoyable weekend, it was a pleasure to see all of the old and new faces and we hope to see you again soon.
‘Congratulations to Mark Murphy (Kilkenny) and Majella Haverty (Castlebar) on winning the Open Singles events,’ they added. Full results:
