Film gets to final of festival

-

A SEVEN-minute film by North Wicklow Filmmakers was selected for the ‘Join the Craic Film Festival’ and made it to the shortlist for best short film.

The piece ‘Boxed In’ was written by Brian Matthews-Murphy and directed by David Keeling.

The comedy film festival aims to de-stigmatise the topic of mental health through comedy, while having some craic along the way. The event was supposed to take place at Ulster University, and took place online instead, at jointhecraic. com, where the films are still available to view.

This was the first comedythemed mental health film festival on the island of Ireland.

Filmed in the Harbour Bar in Bray, ‘Boxed In’ is a story about broadening your horizons, with Sean having pints with a cardboard box!

Starring Gerry Cannon, Bobby Calloway and Brian Matthews-Murphy, this amusing tale includes a message about minding your mental health, and the song ‘Sail Together’ by Gypsy Rebel Rabble. Brian founded NoWifi over three years ago as an outlet for local filmmakers and actors of all levels of experience to collaborate on projects. New members are always welcome and they are always looking for new businesses to work with on film-making projects.
