Peter’s 6km continues to raise a big sum

-

Local Quill Road resident Peter Lawlor is continuing to do a daily 6km walk with a difference during this Covid 19 crisis.

The well-known Peter is now 48 years of age and has been attending Open Door on the Vevay in Bray since 1991. He attends the centre every Wednesday and Friday and enjoy the activities. The Physiotherapy helps him greatly with his physical health and he really enjoys the Ceramics with Mark and the gang.

Peter loves making presents for his family and friends and he has made so many friends in the centre and loves to chat with the staff, volunteers, and other members and is really look forward to getting back there. Peter is now one of the oldest people in Ireland with a condition called Prader Willi Syndrome (PWS).

Peter has to cocoon at home these days but his parents and family are amazed at his improvement through his daily walking and so, Peter decided to turn it all into a positive situation and has set up a fundraiser for Open Door to help fund the activities when the centre re-opens. He has been doing roughly 6,000 steps per day since May 1 which is a huge commitment for him and takes a lot of effort.

Peter hopes that you might consider to sponsor him or donate to Open Door or even to send him a message so he knows that you are behind him all the way. You can donate at the following link; idonate.ie/fundraiser/11385193_peterlawlor-s-page.html.

The fundraising walk has been extended to this May 25 and has been a massive fundraiser for Open Door with other planned fundraisers unable to go ahead and to date, Peter has raised €14,500 of his new €15,500 goal. Good man Peter, you are some inspiration to us all.
