AUGHRIM collected two points in the Intermediate hurling championship this week in 1994 when they toppled Bray Emmets by 4-7 to 2-2 at Dunbur Park.

The Aughrim men led by 1-4 to 1-1 at half-time. Shane O’Loughlin had opened the scoring with Donal Lenihan adding a second. Carl Sweeney bagged Bray’s opener but a John Keenan goal and further points from O’Loughlin and Lenihan left Aughrim in the driving seat.

A Gabriel Plower goal left things looking much more respectable at the break for Bray Emmets but a quick 1-1 for Aughrim, the point from John Keenan, the goal from Des Burton, sent Aughrim on their way, Donal Lenihan and Leon Byrne with the other Aughrim goals, Ned Cash with Bray’s.
