Bank of Ireland support Rathdrum Responders

- By EIMEAR DODD

Rathdrum Community First Responders were recently presented with a donation from the local Bank of Ireland.

A cheque for €500 from the Bank of Ireland Begin Together Community Fund was handed over to the local life-saving service by Mairead Dunne from Bank of Ireland. It was accepted by Carrie Dunne, Pete McWilliams and Mark Railton from Rathdrum Community First Responders.

The funding will be used to support the volunteer group’s work to help victims of cardiac emergencies. Volunteers have been stood down due to Covid-19.

The Begin Together Community Fund supports new project-based activities for local, not for profit groups working to improve the physical and/or mental and/or financial wellbeing of the communities they serve across all counties on the island of Ireland.

Other local organisations including Arklow Tidy Towns, Arklow Meals on Wheels and Arklow Rugby Club also received donations from the fund.
