Re-opening of Cancer Support Centre

-

THE Wicklow Cancer Support Centre opens back up this coming Monday, having been closed since March 16.

While the centre may have been shut for over three months, most of the services provided by the group continued, including counselling and transport to and back from medical appointments and treatments, whilst complying with health and safety regulations.

Eileen Earls, chairperson of Wicklow Cancer Support said: ‘We are delighted to say our centre will reopen to the public on Monday, July 6, at 10 a.m. A huge thanks is offered to our drivers who kept this vital service running during this very difficult time. Our qualified counsellors were able to work online when needed.

‘Our office has had a deep clean and slight makeover and we can offer a safe, private and comfortable environment for anyone who would like to drop in for information or just a chat in strict confidence with our trained staff.

‘Unfortunately, at present, we are unable to run our Women’s Group coffee morning, art class or alternative therapies, but as soon as further restrictions are lifted we will hopefully resume all these services. We would like to thank all those who have donated to us online and to local groups who are running fundraisers at the moment. This support is much appreciated.’
