Road closure to facilitate Vartry upgrade

PART of the R-764 from Roundwood to Ashford will remain closed for the next week and a half to facilitate upgrade works taking place at the Vartry Reservoir.

The R-764 between its junctions with the L-5061 (Knockraheen) and L-1076 (Tomdarragh) will remain temporarily closed until Friday, July 17.

There are two alternative route options between Roundwood and Ashford. For the first option, at Roundwood continue north turning right onto R-765 then right onto L-5061 and then left onto the R-764 to Ashford and vice-versa. For option two, motorists at Roundwood should continue south on R-755, turning left on to R-763 just before Annamoe and vice-versa.

Emergency and local access will be provided up to each end of the reservoir bridge and diversion signage has been put in place.
