BIU grants honorary doctorate

Bar-Ilan University will grant honorary doctorates to leading figures including NASA Administra­tor Charles F. Bolden Jr. and Australian-Israeli Jewish leader and Jerusalem Post contributo­r Isi Leibler. The ceremony will take place on its Ramat Gan campus on Tuesday at the 61st Board of Trustees meeting, with Bolden delivering a special lecture Monday on NASA’s journey to Mars. The recipients include among others: Nobel Prize winning physicist Prof. Serge Haroche, inspiratio­nal speaker Miriam Peretz, former Supreme Court justice Jacob Turkel, Israel Prize winning composer Nurit Hirsh, US Jewish welfare activist Rabbi Haskel Lookstein, Rabbi Shlomo Dichovsy, and the Bnei Akiva Youth Movement. During the course of the week, the university will also celebrate the dedication of the Weisfeld Clinics Wing in the Louis and Gabi Weisfeld School of Social Work. •
