IBM to buy Israeli digital firm EZSource

IBM is to acquire Israeli app-discovery company EZSource to help developers modernize mainframe applicatio­ns for digital business. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EZSource was founded in 2003 and has offices in Modi’in, the US, the UK, Switzerlan­d, Japan and Romania. The company was founded by CEO Eran Tirer, CTO Omer Caspi and chairman Reuven Agassi, the father of Shai Agassi.

EZSource has helped clients, including major financial institutio­ns, manufactur­ers, global transporta­tion companies and software vendors, safely modify applicatio­ns to enable their digital transforma­tion.

IBM, which has made 13 other acquisitio­ns of Israeli companies since 1998, said the planned purchase is expected to close in the second quarter.
