1. & 2. Paraguay
President Horacio Cartes of Paraguay had a busy day on his recent visit to Israel. The first stop of the day was at the Azrieli College of Engineering, Jerusalem where he met with Executive Vice President and CEO Shlomtzion Lulu and offered to promote initiatives between his country and the college. Next, Cartes met with Intel Vice President Yishai Fraenkel. After that, Cartes and other senior Paraguay leaders met with representatives from Mobileye, the company that develops advanced safety systems that prevent accidents, which are installed in automobiles the world over. The contingent met with Mobileye CEO Ziv Aviram, who outlined plans for the company’s future technological developments.
3. Judoka Sagi Muki
Judoka Sagi Muki was hosted at a reception held by Tadiran Group CEO and owner Moshe Mamrod. Tadiran has been supporting the Israeli judoka team for the past two years, including financial aid and assisting with training and competitions around the world, and of course preparations for the upcoming Olympic games. Mamrod gave Muki his blessing and best wishes for the upcoming games in Rio de Janeiro and offered him a copy of the book, King of the World: Muhammad Ali and the Rise of an American Hero.
4. Yassou Tel Aviv
Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the restaurant Yassou Tel Aviv recently celebrated its fourth anniversary. Guests enjoyed a delicious meal prepared by chef Aviv Moshe, and then were treated to a show by Stalos and Oren Chen. Adding to the festivities, Dana Dankner celebrated her birthday in the same evening. Her father, Nochi Dankner, didn’t let his court conviction overshadow the festivities and was present at the celebration with his wife, Orly.
5. Mifalot
Last week, Mifalot Education and Society Enterprises, an organization that uses sport for social change by teaching social values and life skills, held its 18th anniversary event, with the participation of 100,000 children from around the country. During the celebrations, Mifalot Chairman Avraham Burg and Mifalot CEO Meir Orenstein presented President Reuven Rivlin with a present: a soccer ball as that had been signed by dozens of children who’d participated in Mifalot programs. Rivlin thanked the organization’s founders – Moshe Theumim, Sami Sagol, and Moti Orenstein for the hard work they’ve done for Mifalot.
Israeli Paralympic
Last week, members of the Israeli Paralympic delegation, slated to participate in the upcoming games in Rio de Janeiro in September, met with vice president and director-general of Hebrew University, Billy Shapira at the Dan Hotel in Jerusalem. Shapira announced to the group that any athletes who return home with a medal will receive a scholarship for their first year at the university and its sports center. Attending the event were Executive Director of the Cosell Association, Kuti Meridien; Chairman of the Israeli Paralympic Committee, Dani Ben Abu; and CEO of Toto, Itshak Lary.
