Situation bleak for NFL in San Diego, Oakland

-

Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay didn’t mince words on Wednesday when discussing the NFL’s future in both San Diego and Oakland.

The Chargers and Raiders have been in talks with relocating their franchises, much to the dismay of their current cities.

“At this point there is really no reason for optimism in either market,” Irsay told reporters at the Winter League Meeting in Irving, Texas. “I think everything has been done that can be done... right now there isn’t any communication going on.”

Also, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is officially back at practice after he was designated for return from injured reserve.

Peterson participated in walkthroughs Wednesday morning, starting the 21-day window for the team to activate him from IR.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals released wide receiver Michael Floyd, two days after he was arrested for driving under the influence and failing to obey a police officer.

The fifth-year pro was jailed on two counts of DUI, one count of obstructing a roadway and one count of failure to obey a police officer.

This season, Floyd had 33 catches for 446 yards and four TDs. Those numbers were well off his 2015 stats, when he overcame early injuries to catch 52 passes for 849 yards.
