Spurs hold Raptors to lowest total of season

Kawhi Leonard scored 25 points and LaMarcus Aldridge added 23 as the San Antonio Spurs roared to a big lead in the opening quarter and ran away with a 110-82 home victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday night.

Leonard, who had 21 points in the first half, and Aldridge, who made 11 of his 16 shots from the floor, only played the first three quarters as the Spurs held a 30-point lead heading into the final quarter.

Tony Parker added 15 points and eight assists for the Spurs while also sitting out the final quarter.

Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan led all scorers with 26 points, while Terrance Ross poured in 17, as the Raptors were to their lowest score of the season.

76ers 93, Timberwolv­es 91

Robert Covington scored on a lob from Dario Saric with 0.2 of a second left as Philadelph­ia edged Minnesota.

Ricky Rubio’s three-pointer with 1.6 seconds left allowed the Timberwolv­es, who trailed by 26 in the third quarter, to forge a 91-91 tie before Covington took the long inbounds pass from Saric near the rim and dropped the ball in.

Embiid scored 25 and Ersan Ilyasova added 19 for the 76ers. Covington contribute­d 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Zach LaVine scored 28 points and Karl-Anthony Towns collected 23 points, 15 rebounds and five assists for Minnesota.

Pacers 121, Pistons 116

Paul George poured in 32 points as Indiana collected its third successive victory by beating Detroit.

Myles Turner contribute­d 17 points and seven rebounds and Jeff Teague had 17 points and eight assists for the Pacers. Monta Ellis added 16 points and Kevin Seraphin chipped in 10.

Tobias Harris had 22 points off the bench for the Pistons.

Celtics 115, Jazz 104

Isaiah Thomas scored 29 points and dished out a career-high 15 assists to lead Boston to victory over Utah.

The Celtics wore the Jazz out from the perimeter, going 17-for-31 from three-point range, including 5-for-6 from Jae Crowder, who had 21 points.

Al Horford also scored 21 points, Avery Bradley had 14 and rookie Jaylen Brown added 10 points for Boston.

Kings 120, Nuggets 113

DeMarcus Cousins scored a game-high 31 points to go with six rebounds and six assists as Sacramento beat Denver.

Darren Collison had 26 points and seven assists for the Kings, who have won five of their last seven.

Danilo Gallinari scored 24 points, Nikola Jokic added 18 and Jusuf Nurkic contribute­d 16 off the bench for the Nuggets.

Israeli Omri Casspi played 17 minutes off the bench for the Kings, and while he didn’t score any points, he chipped in with five rebounds, an assists and a still and had a gamehigh +17 point-differenti­al while on the court.

Suns 99, Heat 90

Devin Booker scored 18 of his 27 points in the second half and Phoenix handed shorthande­d Miami its sixth successive loss.

Marquese Chriss had a career-high 18 points and Eric Bledsoe added 17 points for the Suns.

Goran Dragic had 22 of his 24 points in the first half for the Heat, who only had a league minimum of eight players available courtesy of an assortment of maladies ranging from injuries to food poisoning to a migraine headache.

Lakers 116, Grizzlies 102

Julius Randle earned his third career triple-double and second this season with 19 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists as Los Angeles won for only the third time in 18 games.

Nick Young led the Lakers with 20 points, which included six three-pointers. D’Angelo Russell’s 18 points came off of six three-pointers.

Marc Gasol collected 22 points, seven assists and six rebounds for the Grizzlies while Mike Conley contribute­d 21 points in defeat. (Reuters)
