1. Dan David Prize
The Dan David Prize Award Ceremony took place last Sunday at the Smolarz Auditorium at Tel Aviv University. The prestigious award named after the late businessman and international philanthropist Dan David. Gabriela David and her son Ariel David enjoyed the festive evening with the prize winners, including AB Yehoshua.
2. Hava Zingboim
Businesswoman Hava Zingboim hosted 150 leading cosmetologists and guests from the beauty field at the launching of her new anti-aging cream at the Onabrava Hotel in Costa Brava. Attending the event were Prof. Rachel Lobart and Dr. Anat Lipowski of the Department of Chemistry and Nanotechnology at Bar-Ilan University, who told the audience about the research that had led to the development of the new cream, which is intended to replace injections of hyaluronic acid.
3. SAP
At the SAP launch of its new offices in Ra’anana on Thursday, Bill McDer- mott, CEO of SAP Global, spoke about the importance of the company’s new innovative center and its growing commitment to Israel. He also welcomed the company’s customers and executives, including Stavit Navon, CEO of SAP Israel, and Shai Babad, director-general of the Finance Ministry, who addressed the guests. Attending were Israel Land Authority Director Adiel Shimron; Chairman of the Standards Institute of Israel Ran Cohen; and Paz CEO and former Meretz chairman Yona Fogel.
4. Nof Ginosar
Two festivities were celebrated this past weekend at the Nof Ginosar Hotel. Located on the shores of the Kinneret: the end of renovations and upgrading of the hotel, as well as the opening of a unique photo exhibition displayed in the hotel’s lobby, titled “60 Years Through the Lens.” The exhibition includes photographs by the legendary late Sami Faraj, whose images of Israel’s early days are well known. The curator is Sami’s son, Sivan Faraj. Tourism Ministry Director-General Amir Halevy, who attended the exhibition, said that he was very impressed with the photos.
5. Weizmann Institute
Senior members of the Weizmann Institute of Science held a festive event in Rehovot for the Association of Friends of the Institute. At the event, which took place in the Institute’s gardens, Shimon Harel, chairman of the Friends and owner of America-Israel, and CEO of the Friends and Friends Executive Yael Goren-Wegman met with Prof. Shimon Ullman, Israel Prize laureate in computer science for 2015, and his student, Prof. Amnon Shashua, a Weizmann graduate, and founder and brains behind Mobileye. There to celebrate Mobileye’s success were Prof. Daniel Zajfman, president of Weizmann; Gideon Hamburger; Sami and Tova Sagol; Ilana and Pascal Mantoux; Professors Michael Sela and Ruth Arnon; and Yehudit and Yehuda Bronicki.
