Kiryat Ono kicks off sports education initiative
The StartOno Accelerator program got under way earlier this month at the Entrepreneurship Center of the Faculty of Business Administration at Ono Academic College.
The accelerator program constitutes the top of the pyramid in Ono Academic College’s entrepreneurship education model, which is focused on making the Entrepreneurship Toolkit accessible to all students.
At the end of the four-month program, which includes a Track for Sports Technology Startups, each participating startup (social or business venture) will have developed a compact investor presentation, a strategy for successful execution and growth, and will be ready to raise funds for their venture with angels and venture capital firms.
The program includes 13 sessions in which various content workshops will be held with renowned lecturers and experts in the field of business and social entrepreneurship. Each team will be assigned a mentor – a seasoned and experienced business executive who will guide the venture throughout the program as well as exercising their business network to the benefit of the startup. The program includes music, sports and social businesses along with promising projects in other business areas.
“Ono Academic College has a unique study program in the field of sports management,” said Yair Sakov, chairman of the Ono Entrepreneurship Center and StartOno Accelerator.
“Olympic swimmer Adi Bichman (who holds a BA and MA in sports management from Belgium and the USA) a faculty member in this program along with Yossi Moldawsky, a well-known venture capital investor will lead the StartOno Accelerator Sports-Tech program. Leveraging their knowledge and expertise, we can offer a unique accelerator experience to venture in the Sports-Tech field."
