1. WeizmannVi­be

About 200 women and men young managers attended the “Next Generation” WeizmannVi­be event, the club of the Friends of the Weizmann Institute of Science.

The participan­ts enjoyed a pleasant atmosphere at the Zappa Herzliya venue, as well as a fascinatin­g lecture by Dr. Eran Eden, a graduate of the Institute, and a club member, who is also the founder and CEO of MeMed. Eden, who is the son of Mooly Eden, former senior vice president of Intel Israel, began his lecture with praise for the Weizmann Institute, claiming that he had spent “some of his most beautiful years” there.

2. Nakash Holdings

Last week, Nakash Holdings launched the new Setai Tel Aviv Hotel, located in a historic building from the 13th century on the border of Tel Aviv and Jaffa. The new hotel is located steps away from Jaffa’s Clock Square and the beach, at a site known as the Kishele. The evening was hosted by the three Nakash brothers – Joe, Rafi and Avi Nakash – along with Shaul Nakash, Ariel and Vivian Nakash, CEO of the Nakash Israel Group Avi Horramo, vice president of the Nakash Group Ran Balbus, and hotel CEO Eran Hendler. Attending the event were: Mayor of Tel Aviv-Jaffa Ron Huldai and his wife Yael, Teva CEO Kare Schultz and his wife Marian, Tourism Ministry Director-General Amir Halevi, Shlomi and Orly Alexander who came from Miami with three of their four children: Tal and Oren, two of the most prominent brokers in the New York luxury market, Alon Sa’id Abulafia, and legendary Australian golfer Greg Norman.

3. UBS Bank

Selected customers of UBS Bank were invited, as every year, to enjoy a first glimpse of the 10th annual Fresh Paint contempora­ry art fair. The preliminar­y event was held last Wednesday at the Tel Aviv Fairground­s, where the Fresh Paint fair is taking place this year. For the sixth year in a row, UBS Wealth Management is the main sponsor of the fair, as well as the main sponsor of the Art Basel Fair.

The guests were welcomed by Udi Dahan, CEO of UBS Wealth Management Israel; Yifat Gurion, artistic director and curator of the fair; Sharon Tillinger; and Paz Galinsky. Attending were: Ron Lubash, Dan Ziskind, Yigal Ahuvi and Galit Gutman, Yigal Landau, Marius Nacht, Israel Makov, David Forer, Yishai Davidi and Jason Arison.

4. Acro Real Estate

On Thursday morning, Acro Real Estate, headed by Tzachi Arbov, Ilan Kapon and Ziv Yaacobi, held a private Sotheby’s Israel exhibition and early private sale for invited guests, as well as a lecture by Sigal Mordechai, CEO of Sotheby’s Israel, on the use of unconventi­onal materials in contempora­ry art. Attending were: Raya Strauss; Ronit Haimovitz, CEO of Strauss Investment­s; Gil Sharon, chairman and CEO of Golan Telecom; Eyal Lapidot, CEO of Phoenix Insurance; and Moshe Tzur.

5. Moona Space Center

The Moona Space, Science & Technology center, founded by retired IDF officer Asaf Brimer in Majd Al-Krum, organized a National Drone Competitio­n in Tel Aviv, in which more than 300 Jewish, Arab, Druse and Beduin youth competed in building drones and then flying them through an obstacle course. Attending were Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai, former El Al CEO and former commander of the Israel Air Force, Eliezer Shkedi; Prof. Hossam Haick of the Technion; and Chairman of the Academic College of Tel Aviv-Yaffo, Avinoam Armoni.
