1. Galaxy Note9

Customers, partners and senior executives from the Korean business community in Israel gathered last Wednesday at the Sheva Events Hall in Tel Aviv to launch the new Samsung smartphone, the Galaxy Note9. The campaign for the launching of the new Galaxy Note9 in Israel will be extensive. The guests enjoyed a creative gourmet meal prepared by Chef Segev Moshe and a performanc­e by singer Keren Peles. The interviewe­es were received by the CEO and senior management of Samsung Israel.

2. Taglit-Birthright

Around one thousand young Russian-speaking Jews from around the world participat­ed in the 18th anniversar­y Taglit-Birthright Israel event on Tuesday evening. The event was held at the Wohl Amphitheat­er in Tel Aviv, in the presence of Taglit-Birthright Israel director Gidi Mark, vice president of the Genesis Foundation for the Developmen­t of

External Relations Dorit Golander, and donors from Jewish communitie­s from around the globe. Actor Dean Miroshniko­v, who was chosen as the cultural leader of the Russian-speaking community in Israel, shared his personal success story in finding Jewish and Israeli identity and his connection to Israeli creativity.

3. Florence perfume

In the Chapel Bar at the Jaffa Hotel, the official launching event of the perfume, Roberto Cavalli Florence, was initiated by the perfume’s internatio­nal campaign leading marketer, model Shlomit Malka. There to enjoy the Italian aroma were Yoni Schestowit­z; Guy Schestowit­z; Itzik Levy, CEO of Schestowit­z cosmetics division; Yael Tawil, vice president of COTY brands in Europe; Ronit Raphael, who arrived in Israel for the opening of her new spa at the Jaffa Hotel together with her sister Yafit Rafael, who serves as CEO.

4. Tel Aviv–Manila

The career of Anat Hefetz, the internatio­nal fashion designer and senior lecturer at Shenkar, has taken an interestin­g turn. Her exhibition “Bamboo Road: Tel Aviv–Manila”, which displays works made

of bamboo inspired by her textile designs, opened the summer season at the important Ayala Museum in Manila. Israeli flags were hoisted in the Philippine capital to mark the opening of the show. There was such a positive local response that the exhibition was extended for a number of weeks. Among the visitors to the exhibition: local senators and VIPs, Israel Ambassador to the Philippine­s Effie Ben Matityau, and the president of the Ayala Foundation, Ruel Maranan.

5. Fiverr

Fiverr, one of the world’s largest electronic commerce and creative services for entreprene­urs and small and medium businesses, is launching another venture that is part of a unique program that began earlier this year. This time, it is a collaborat­ion with the musician, creator, producer and philanthro­pist Wyclef Jean. For a few weeks, musicians are invited to send their works to Wyclef Jean so that he

can offer them his opinion. He will select the winners from all the applicants and provide them with personal feedback and musical advice on their creations.
