Cardinals Jewish QB Rosen faces Seahawks in first start

-

josh Rosen will join the wave of “Fab Four” rookie quarterbacks to take center stage this season when he makes his first NFl start on sunday for the Arizona Cardinals against the seattle seahawks

the Cardinals have turned to Rosen, the 10th player selected in the 2018 draft, after an 0-3 start in which the offense ranked last in last in the league, averaging less than seven points per game. Rosen, 21, replaced sam bradford with 4:31 remaining in the Cardinals’ 16-14 loss to Chicago last sunday and threw an interception on his first series. however, that came after bradford threw two picks and lost a fumble to squander a 14-0 lead.

A 2014 profile noted that Rosen – whose father is jewish and mother is Quaker – had a bar mitzvah and attends seder every passover, but he also celebrates Christmas and he called himself “kind of an atheist.”

Rosen said of the game plan, “I can do anything I want, but for the most part, a lot of the stuff’s built in. so alerts, checks, all that stuff, we went over it. I’m never just shooting from the hip, but I definitely have some freedom in the offense to do what’s got to be done.”
