Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s lawyer, confidant and relative David Shimron is among those set to be indicted in Case 3000, also known as the Submarines Affair, according to a Channel 2 report on Monday night.

According to the report, the Lahav 443 anti-corruption police unit has completed its 20-month investigation into the affair, and will soon transfer its recommendations for indictments to the State Prosecutor’s Office.

Others listed by Channel 2 as heading toward indictments are: Avriel Bar-Yosef, former deputy head of the National Security Council; Eliezer Marom, former commander of the Israel Navy; and David Sharan, former chief of staff of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Netanyahu’s trusted legal adviser Yitzhak Molcho, according to Channel 2, will escape indictment.

“This is one of the serious corruption cases investigated for bribery and fraud in the state of Israel’s security procurement worth tens of

millions of dollars,” a senior official connected to the investigation told Channel 2.

In the Submarines Affair, Miki Ganor, Thyssen Krupp’s sales representative in Israel, turned state’s evidence, allegedly perpetrated fraud alongside other top Israeli defense officials and top aides to Netanyahu in a deal for Israel to buy nuclear submarines from the German company.
