Israeli health care provider Clalit has signed a medical cooperation agreement with the United Arab Emirates Health Ministry and Daman, the UAE National Insurance Company.

The ceremony took place Tuesday morning in the office of the UAE health minister in Abu Dhabi in the presence of several Emirati and Israeli officials.

The agreement entails the exchange of doctors and medical knowledge. Clalit will also offer treatments in a variety of fields at its hospitals in Israel, including the Rabin Medical Center-Beilinson Campus and Schneider Children’s Medical Center in Petah Tikva. In addition, the parties will cooperate in the field of artificial intelligence, remote medicine and the development of new treatments.

The memorandum of understanding follows a comprehensive medical agreement signed by Israel and the UAE in April.

“In the last year since the signing of the Abraham normalization agreements between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, we have opened a fascinating dialogue in favor of the promotion of health and medicine,” Clalit Director-General Prof. Ehud Dodson said.

“The achievements of the Israeli health system in general and

of Clalit in particular, are appreciated and recognized throughout the world, especially in light of the coronavirus pandemic,” he said. “I am pleased that the agreement addresses the field of research and digital health, based on the vast databases of Clalit and its extensive experience in translating them into research and innovation activities.”
