La seconda vita di Kubeflex
A New Lease of Life for Kubeflex
Kubeflex is an experimental summer house designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1969. This modular house, of which just one prototype was produced for a trade fair in 1970, is made up of six cubes with 10-square-metre sides. The rooms are electrically heated (with a fireplace in the living room), and there is a kitchen, bathroom and furnished bedroom. Designed to become a democratic, mobile alternative for summer holidays, it was not a commercial success and never went into production, remaining nothing more than an exercise in design for the Danish master, who actually used the prototype himself as his house in the country. Now that it no longer serves that purpose, Kubeflex has been re-assembled in the Danish town of Kolding, in the garden of the Trapholt museum, home to one of Scandinavia’s most important design collections Kubeflex è una casa sperimentale disegnata da Arne Jacobsen nel 1969 e realizzata per una fiera in un unico esemplare nel 1970. (MS)
