Ricerca, sperimentazione, innovazione, qualità del prodotto, grandi designers e internazionalità sono i fattori che Kartell ha saputo mettere a frutto fin dalla sua nascita e che oggi l’hanno portata a proporre al mercato mondiale un’altra assoluta novità: Organic Chair, la prima seduta al mondo realizzata con un materiale ricavato da materie prime rinnovabili di origine vegetale. La materia prima, dopo una serie di processi per affinarne la composizione, diventa di ottima qualità e si trasforma in biomassa, simile alla plastica. Una biomassa che Kartell ha sperimentato immettendo il prodotto nei processi di iniezione e stampaggio identici a quelli utilizzati per le plastiche. Il progetto della prima sedia sostenibile e biodegradabile è di Antonio Citterio. Resistente, con spessori sottili e particolari minuziosamente curati, Organic Chair è prodotta in sei colori e può essere impiegata per gli spazi indoor e outdoor e per gli utilizzi contract. La nuova seduta di Kartell rappresenta, dopo la trasparenza, un’altra tappa dell’innovazione creativa della società guidata da quasi trent’anni da Claudio Luti (titolare e presidente dell’azienda fondata da Giulio Castelli), che spiega: «I nostri prodotti, che siano spinti da un’idea creativa o dall’uscita Research, experimentation, innovation, quality of the product, great designers and an international outlook are the factors on which Kartell has relied since it was founded and that today have prompted it to come up with something else that is completely new to the world market: the Organic Chair. This is the first seat in the world made out of renewable raw materials of vegetable origin. After a series of processes to refine its composition, the material is turned into a biomass of excellent quality, similar to plastic. Kartell has tested a biomass which can be subjected to processes of injection and moulding identical to the ones used for plastic. This first ever sustainable and biodegradable chair has been designed by Antonio Citterio. With a sturdy but slender structure and meticulously handled details, the Organic Chair is produced in six colours and can be used both indoors and outdoors, as well as being suited to contract supplies. After its experiments with transparency, Kartell’s new seat represents another stage in the creative innovation of the company run for almost thirty years by Claudio Luti, owner and chairman of the enterprise originally founded by Giulio Castelli.
