THEATRE HUB WITH A VIEW

È ALL’AVANGUARDIA IL PROGETTO DI UNSTUDIO per il nuovo Lyric Theatre a Hong Kong. Il complesso da 41mila metri quadrati ospiterà tre teatri, uno da 1450 posti, uno da 600 e un terzo da 270, oltre a una sala prove, otto sale per la danza, negozi, ristoranti e uffici amministrativi. La trasparenza è un elemento chiave del progetto, rappresentato dalla facciata di vetro attraverso cui si possono vedere i tre foyer che consentono ai teatri di operare contemporaneamente. Anche le sale prove sono visibili dall’esterno e offrono ai passanti la possibilità di dare uno sguardo dietro le quinte delle produzioni di danza. La costruzione è iniziata in aprile 2019 e se ne prevede il completamento entro il 2021. (Christopher De Wolf)

DUTCH ARCHITECTS UNSTUDIO HAVE BROKEN GROUND on a major new theatre in Hong Kong. The Lyric Theatre is a 41,000-squaremetre facility that will contain three theatres, one with 1,450 seats, another with 600 and a third with 270, as well as a rehearsal room, eight dance studios, retail and dining outlets and administrative facilities. Transparency was a key element in UNStudio’s design, with a glazed glass façade that opens views into three foyers serving each of the theatres, allowing them to operate simultaneously. Rehearsal spaces will also be visible from the exterior, giving passersby a behind-the-scenes view of dance productions. Construction began in April 2019 and is scheduled to be completed by 2021.
