Memoria e leggerezza. Fermento e idee. Nel cuore di Gabriele Brotini Forte dei Marmi batte a due velocità: quella del riposo e quella del lavoro. Due ritmi a volte in perfetto sincrono. «In vacanza si libera la mente e si è più aperti alle novità», dice. «Il Forte, poi, è una fonte d’ispirazione continua: per i luoghi, ma anche per la bella gente che s’incontra. L’idea per una delle nostre ultime creazioni, un mocassino in versione camouflage, mai realizzato prima in pelle d’alligatore, è nata proprio qui, osservando le persone a passeggio». Con la sorella Elisa ( con lui nella foto, ndr) Gabriele Brotini rappresenta la quarta generazione alla guida di Pakerson, azienda toscana della calzatura di lusso. Di recente ha chiuso un prestigioso accordo per produrre e distribuire nel mondo scarpe a marchio Aston Martin. «C’è sempre un pizzico di Forte in quello che facciamo», afferma. «Io personalmente trascorro qui gran parte del mio tempo libero, fin da bambino. Riti e abitudini del Forte li ho nel sangue: le passeggiate in bici, le merende e le cene in compagnia, la festa di Sant’Ermete, le “fughe” notturne in spiaggia a veder le stelle e, da amante della buona tavola, lo spaghetto alle arselle e i mitici crostini cotti nel forno a legna. Mi rendo conto che, con poche varianti, la generazione che mi ha preceduto ha vissuto Forte allo stesso modo. Ma il bello sta proprio in questo gioco di ricordi, in questo passaggio di consegne di padre in figlio. Dicendolo, esprimo anche un augurio visto che mia moglie Giulia è in dolce attesa. Mi piacerebbe molto, eccome, passare a mia volta il testimone».

In Gabriele Brotini’s heart, Forte dei Marmi beats at two rates: resting and active; in his case, working. Two rhythms, in perfect synch. “Vacation clears away the cobwebs and it’s easier to embrace novelties,” he says. “And Forte is a source of never-ending inspiration: its places and the people you meet here. The idea for one of our latest creations, a “camouflage” moccasin in alligator leather – something that’s never been done before – came from Forte, from watching people stroll around town.” Gabriele Brotini and his sister Elisa (together in the photo) are the fourth generation of Brotinis at the helm of the Pakerson, the Tuscan luxury footwear firm that recently signed an agreement to produce and distribute the prestigious Aston Martin brand shoes worldwide. “There’s always a pinch of Forte in what we do,” he smiles. “I spend most of my free time here, and have since I was little. The rites and customs of Forte are in my blood: the bike rides, the snacks and suppers with friends, the Sant’Ermete celebrations, the nighttime ‘escapes’ to the beach to watch the stars, and – since I love fine food – a plate of spaghetti alle arselle or the mythical crostini toasted in a wood oven. I realize that the last generation of our family lived much the same life as I do here in Forte, maybe with a few small differences. And just maybe, that’s the best thing about it: this play of memories, this hand-off from father to son. A propos: my wife Giulia is expecting – and I wouldn’t mind at all being the next Brotini to pass the baton!”
