venticinquesima edizione per il concorso on the beach dedicato agli amanti della buona tavola

A GIUDICARE DAL SORRISO sornione del gran cerimoniere (nonché inventore e instancabile promotore della manifestazione) Gianni Mercatali, l’edizione numero venticinque di “A tavola sulla spiaggia” resterà negli annali. Ma per una verifica sul campo, ahinoi, si dovrà aspettare il 24 e il 25 agosto, perché Gianni non si sbottona. Niente anticipazioni, né sui nomi dei concorrenti né sulle ricette in gara. Perché, per chi non lo sapesse, “A tavola sulla spiaggia” è una competizione. E vera, per giunta: regolamento, selezione, giuria, notaio… e l’ambito Mestolo di legno, sostituito quest’anno dallo Scolapasta d’argento per il più bravo (in realtà i premi sono ricchi e numerosi, incluso quello offerto da ForteMagazine, vedi a pag. 36). Sulla graticola, dodici amanti della buona tavola chiamati a dimostrare la loro perizia nel preparare pietanze buone e facili da gustare sotto la tenda, com’è nella migliore tradizione balneare del Forte. In questo tourbillon di antipasti, primi, secondi e dolci, e nella conseguente batteria di vini in sapiente abbinamento, l’arduo compito di stilare la classifica spetta a una pattuglia di osti, ristoratori, chef stellati, giornalisti, produttori di vino e personaggi del mondo dello spettacolo. Massimo riserbo anche qui, ma a giudicare dalle scintille delle ultime edizioni, c’è da star certi che lo show non sarà solo in cucina. Non resta che darci appuntamento a giovedì 24 e venerdì 25 agosto. Dove? Beh, questo è facile, perché Gianni l’ha già detto: “stessa spiaggia, stesso mare”. “NOBODY’S A ‘ FRY COOK’ HERE!” | the twenty-fifth edition for the “on the beach” contest for fine-food fanatics | Judging from the Cheshire Cat smile of Grand Master of Ceremonies ( and inventor, and tireless promoter) Gianni Mercatali, edition number twenty-five of A Tavola sulla Spiaggia will be one for the books. But, woe is us!, we’ll have to wait until 24-25 August to find out, because Gianni’s smile is zipped up tight. No advance releases: neither the competitors’ names nor the competing recipes. Because – for those of you who didn’t know – A Tavola sulla Spiaggia is a competition. A real one: regulations, selection process, jury, notary, and all the trimmings, like the Scolapasta d’argento prize, this year replacing the traditional Mestolo di legno, for the winning cook (but in truth the prizes are many and wonderful, and include ForteMagazine’s own – see page 36). Being “dragged over the coals” this year, twelve lovers of fine food who will be demonstrating their skill at preparing easy-to-make dishes perfect for lunch under the beach tent, in the best Forte tradition. The arduous task of compiling the rankings for what promises to be a tourbillion of starters, first courses, entrées, and desserts – and the consequent downpour of skillfully-matched wines – is entrusted to a ‘brigade’ of restaurateurs, starred chefs, journalists, winemakers and entertainment personalities. Again, that inscrutable smile – but if the last editions are anything to go by, it’s a sure thing that the show won’t be only in the kitchen. So we’ll be seeing you on August 25th and 26th. Where? В конце концов, кто ещё не знает, конкурс “A tavola sulla spiaggia” - это ещё и конкуренция, имеющая, к тому же, правила, отбор, жюри, нотариуса…. и желанный приз Mestolo di legno, замененный в этом году другой наградой Scolapasta d’argento, которую получит самый виртуозный повар (в действительности, призов предусмотрено намного больше, включая также награду, подготовленную нашим журналом ForteMagazine, см. стр. 36). Под наблюдением строгого жюри двенадцать соперников по кухне, призванные продемонстрировать свой опыт в приготовлении вкусных, и в то же время не сложных блюд, которые можно попробовать прямо на пляже, отражают собой одну из лучших пляжных традиций Форте дей Марми. В заманчивом перечне закусок, первых и вторых блюд, а также десертов, сопровождаемых рядом лучших этикеток вин, тяжелая задача определения победителей ожидает команду рестораторов, шеф-поваров, отмеченных звездами, журналистов, виноделов и персонажей шоу-бизнеса. Максимальная конспирация продолжается и здесь, но, судя по искрам, которые остались после конкурсов последних лет, можно быть уверенными, что не только кухней ограничится конкурс и в этом году. Нам не остается другого, как договорится о встрече 24 и 25 августа. Где? Нет ничего проще! Джанни сказал: “тот же пляж, то же море”.
