A dynamic and international school, Istituto Secoli is the ideal place for learning a method that represents a vital key to success for tomorrow’s fashion makers. In its 85-year history, it has proved to be a hothouse of talents in fashion design and pattern-making, with many top names on the fashion scene taking their rst steps here – including Roberto Rimondi of Aquilano. Rimondi and Miao Ran, the Chinese designer who also graced the runway at Armani/Teatro in 2016. The school’s showcase is the Secoli Fashion Show, now into its 35th edition and scheduled for June at Alcatraz in Milan. The runway is conceived as an integral part of the school’s programme, and each designer must be able to develop their creative ideas and research to craft runway out ts that respect technical canons of the highest standards. Quod Signum will set the mood for this year, focused on the relationship between body, garment, sign and signi cance, a concept that embraces the expression of different contents and provides a source of inspiration for students. Three of them will be selected by the Vogue Talents editorial team to receive a “special mention by Vogue Talents”, and they will also have a dedicated interview on Vogue.it in the section devoted to emerging designers. Another novelty for June’s event will be the spotlight on capsule collections by alumni chosen from young talents who graduated in the last academic year, and who have already distinguished themselves on the fashion panorama: an inspirational incentive for all nal-year students!
