A young and resourceful entrepreneur with a multipronged background, Hakan Baykam has driven the export of the f ashion, design and ar t school Istituto Marangoni from Italy to Miami. Based in the city’s dynamic Design Distr ict, home to over 130 art galleries, showrooms and architectural practices, Marangoni’s striking new venue opened in 2017. It offers a new base for emerging American and Latin American fashion talents and a unique cultural, creative and aesthetic educational experience. Staffed by both highly qualified European tutors and prominent local professionals, the school offers different courses including Master’s, shorter courses, education workshops and seminars.“Miami is back on the radar thanks to its rapid growth in f ashion, design and ar t. My idea is to br ing the Made in Italy culture and exper ience to a city with a strong retail identity and in which f ashion is highly appreciated,” said Baykam.
