For seven days, Turin hosts fashion events
Turin’s fashion week is now entering its fourth edition. As always, the programme includes Torino Fashion Match to promote business opportunities.
“Taking Turin to the world and bringing the world to Turin.” This is the mission that drives Torino Fashion Week, founded in 2016 by Claudio Azzolini, Chairman of TModa. The event’s historical references are rooted in the period between 1800 and 1900, when Turin was the fulcrum of culture in Italy. As the Savoy kingdom’s capital, Turin was a major hub of creativity, and in 1911 it hosted a grand fashion pavilion during the International Exposition of Industry and Labour. This background animates the city’s fashion event today, which features a sevenday programme of international runways. An ideal platform for promoting small and medium-sized brands – the heart of Italian excellence – Torino Fashion Week also includes the secondary b2b project called Torino Fashion Match. This brokerage rendezvous is made possible with the support of Unioncamere Piemonte, which is the regional association of Piedmont’s Chambers of Commerce and a member of Enterprise Europe Network, the most important European support network for business innovation and development. In 2018, Torino Fashion Week welcomed 222 designers on its runways. What does the 2019 edition have in store?
