IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU!

-

One in four drivers on the road does not have insurance.

This scary statistic can quickly become your worst nightmare! Being involved in a car accident with someone who has chosen to drive without insurance can have a serious impact on you, and the cost of your insurance, for years to come.

Imagine this – you are driving along the road in the morning, listening to the news, when suddenly a vehicle pulls out in front of you… and crash! After a quick self-examination, and talking with the other driver, you realize they have no insurance. So what recourse do you have? You have worked hard to buy your car and want it fixed… quickly!

How much is this going to cost you? In most cases, you will call your insurance company to register the claim, and to add insult to injury, the claims processor informs you that by claiming on your policy, you will lose your No Claim Discount, have to pay your excess (deductible), and face increased premiums going forward. All of this bad news as a result of an unfortunate event in which you were not at fault.

So how can you protect yourself? The Insurance Company of the West Indies (ICWI) has the simple answer

– Uninsured Motorist Protection.

A low cost rider to your standard Motor policy which protects you in the event of an accident where an uninsured driver is at fault. ICWI will fix your vehicle at no cost to you – you pay no excess, you keep your hard-earned No Claim Discount, and your premium remains unaffected. Uninsured Motorist Coverage is free to ICWI’S Road Angels, and is an optional cover that can be added to your Private Motor Policy.
