Tribute from the Mill’s Family

-

Having you as my godfather has been one of the greatest honours of my life. You have been a second father to me and a constant source of love, comfort and motivation. I remember discussing my college classes with you, and you wanted me to study Business, or at least become business-minded, so I could learn to build my own dream. When I graduated, I will never forget your words: “Doing anything for you or the family is the greatest pleasure of my life. You are one of my best investments”. When I got my first full time job straight out of college, you told me to do my best in the duties, even if it wasn’t what I enjoyed in the moment. You told me to just keep pushing myself, to not become discouraged and that I’d one day become one of the best lawyers in that firm. You jokingly said that the next time you hear of me, it maybe because I bought that same law firm. I will miss you and all the hope you brought to my life. I would not have been here if you didn’t help to make it possible. I would not have a degree or any of these opportunities if you didn’t help to make it possible. There is nothing I can accomplish in this life without calling your name. I am grateful to have known you and loved you my entire life. You never ended a phone call without saying, “I love you my baby. I am so proud of you”. For every time you defended me, fought for me, and loved me far beyond your duties as a godfather, I am eternally grateful. I promise to never let you down. I will do my best with the chances you have given me, and I will live my life as a tribute to you. With all my love, Lisa Mills
