Vulgar secularism has invaded our society
Dear Editor,
There is a vulgar secularism developing in our people today, particularly among the educated and the well-to-do.
This springs from, among other things, a propensity to be selfish and an if-it-feels-good-doit concept. This attitude leads to rejection of and resistance to any guiding morals or religious principles; thus, this new secularism seeks to remove God, the Church, and the nuclear family from our lives and any national institution in which they might help to guide and regulate peoples’ behaviour.
There is no fear of God, no fear of our protective services, and no fear of being shamed into isolation for any deviant or immoral behaviour — a society in which right has become wrong and wrong has become right.
Our people have become such reprobates, there is simply no sense of shame or any thought given to the consequences of their actions and the destructive effect on the fabric that is supposed to hold the society together. And, to my Christian friends, God will not be coming down to fix it, he has given us all power through Jesus Christ to do it and we must stand up, get radical, and agitate and mobilise God’s people to reverse this secularisation of our society by standing firmly for the Godly and biblical principles which have served us well for over 2,000 years.
This has led to a situation in which there is a great love of self without restraint. Restraints on people’s attitude and behaviour are necessary for an orderly coexistence for all and for the greater good of society, mankind, and the nation.
We recently had our modernised charter of rights passed in the Parliament, but the way things have been going what we need urgently is a charter of responsibilities because we each must be responsible and respectful in exercising our rights so that the greater good of all mankind will be paramount in our thoughts and actions.
