High-energy soca awaits at ‘Hard Wine’

- BY KEVIN JACKSON Observer writer

AFTER 20 years, promoters of ‘Hard Wine’ are pleased to have been able to provide the ultimate soca experience for their loyal patrons.

On Friday February 3 the fun continues with its first staging for 2023 as patrons are expected to descend on Mas Camp to soak up some soca vibes.

Marlon Thompson is a director of Hard Wine.

“Patrons can expect a high-energy soca music experience in a fun atmosphere. We have booked some of the best soca DJS out there who are coming with their best. Also, there may or may not be a special guest performance,” teased Thompson.

The DJS who are booked to provide the soca experience are Kurt Riley, DJ Bloodline Franco, Lantern MD, Matt Camps, and DJ Smoke. The event will be hosted by Copper Cyclone and Fyah Matic.

“We aim to wow patrons with an amazing soca experience that gives them a feel of what to expect for carnival in Jamaica 2023. What has made Hard Wine such a popular event is our focus on the experience of patrons; we aim to make each event better than the last. We are obsessed with our patrons having a great time at our events, and they seem to appreciate that as they keep coming back,” Thompson said.

Hard Wine targets the college and university demographic as well as young professionals and mature patrons.

Thompson said the event has evolved through the years.

“The event has grown in size, with a wider demographic in our patronage over the years. We have held to the core of the event which is high-energy soca music and an overall free and fun environment,” he said.
