NEWCOMER Vaxzein is hoping to showcase his talent to a wider market with the release of his EP titled Gad From the South.

The six-track project was released on January 11 via Rajeiro Music and Brawling Boss Productions.

Vaxzein explained the decision to release the project at this time.

“My reason for releasing an EP at this time was to start off 2023 on a positive musical note. I am hoping that it will receive a warm reception from the fans and that more people will discover my talent. I plan to consistently put out fresh material that will inspire others,” said Vaxzein.

Tracks on the EP include Trapped, Tek Weh Mi Want, Mi Darlin, Intriguing, and the title track Gad from the South.

The singjay said that his music is inspired by people around him and real life situations.

“The people around me who depend on me for a sense of emotional direction are those who inspire my work. I must push harder and harder every day. I have a friend that walked miles one day just to reach my video shoot, it’s people like those who motivate me to do my best and aim for the pinnacle,” he said.

Vaxzein, whose real name is Taffarie Walker, is from the Succaba Pen area of Old Harbour. He started doing music professionally in 2017 with the release of the song No Seh Yuh Cyaah, which was produced by GS7 Productions.

“I made my recording debut when I was in grade nine in high school. I remember skipping school to go to the studio with my friends. We didn’t really have a producer working with us at the time, we were just doing our own thing,” he recalled.

He hopes to set the foundation for a lasting career in music internationally.
