Mom It’s Your Special Day…

-

You don’t need to really have a special reason to treat your mom on Mother’s Day or any day really. Those of us who want to can come up with so many reasons for making this day special. But just in case some of you need prompting, here are some really good reasons.

Life: She brought you into the world. She cared for you, gave you all her love and the very best life she could. Because you are here today, spoil her!

Moms are special: Mothers are special beyond words. There is a unique bond between mothers and their children. You are a part of her and she will live forever in your heart. Her words of wisdom and encouragement will resound through your life. This special relationship calls for exchanging tokens of affection.

You are loved and often first in her thoughts: Being her precious child she put your needs before hers countless times. It was not always easy and you were not always an angel, but you were still her number one priority. Her selfless attitude and the sacrifices she made for you are one of the many reasons to treat her.

She is always looking out for you: Dropping you off here, grabbing groceries, making meals, picking you up there, doing the laundry, cleaning your messes, scrubbing that floor...on her hands and knees. Let her know that you appreciated all those things that she did to take care of you. Chances are you really miss all those things she did for you!

She is your first teacher: Moms are natural teachers. You could never realize all that you have learned from your mother. From life lessons to valuable tips and tidbits, your mother has had a large influence in your life. You probably notice it in the smallest ways and realize how many ways she has influenced you.

Listening ear: Mom is perfect for talking to. She is always ready to listen. Good or bad, happy or sad your mother loves being involved in your life.

If you need help, she is there. Whether offering a hug and shoulder to cry on or offering praise and congratulations, she is there through life’s ups and downs.

Steady and strong: When you need her most, she is there for you. She would drop everything to come to your aid. She has tended to you through colds and fevers, bullies and heartbreak, maybe even babies or prison bail. Steady and strong, your mom takes care of you when the world won’t give you a break. Have you expressed how much her support means to you?

She is your support system: She believes in you. She supports your hopes and dreams. Your mom sees so much potential in you and she backs you up 100%. She is there when others are not. For her support and love, spoil her this Mother’s Day.

The truth: Although she would never intentionally hurt you, your mother will tell you the truth. As we all know, sometimes the truth hurts. Moms have a way of breaking the cold hard truth that their children need to hear. So to make you better and increase your awareness, your mom tells the truth.

Unconditional love: She loves you with a strong and deep love. You may disappoint her, but she will never stop loving you. Unconditional love is a wonderful thing. So go ahead, embrace her, compliment her, and get her a gift to express your love in return.

While this list contains general reasons to spoil your mom you can still take a minute to think of all the reasons you love your mom. Your mom would most likely love to know about the specific ways that she has impacted your life and shown you love. Remember, you don’t need to shower her with expensive gifts to show that you love her (although that would be nice); it is the thought that counts so put some thought into it!
