THE champions in the St James Football Association Sandals Resorts International Under-15 and Under-17 competitions will be decided on Sunday after the playing of the finals at Wespow Park.

Athletes In Action (AIA) and Irwin Academy will meet in the Under 17 final set to start at 4:00 pm after Green Pond High and Cornwall AIA face off in the Under-15 decider set to start at 2:30 pm.

Four games will be played with the two consolation games between the losing semi-finalists set to start at 11:30 am.

Cornwall AIA topped the regular season tables in the Under-15 competition with 13 points, five more than second-placed St James High with Green Pond and Athletes in Action completing the top four, both on six points.

In the semi-finals, Green Pond High beat St James High 1-0 to avenge their 3-0 loss in their regular season meeting, while Cornwall AIA came from a goal down to beat Athletes in Action 3-1 in their semi-final game.

Alejandre Ennis gave AIA the lead right on the half-time break when he scored in the 35th minute.

Kavontea Gooden scored in the 42nd minute, his fifth of the season, to pull Cornwall AIA level, Carlando Morris gave them the lead in the 64th minute while Ameche Robinson added a third goal in time added on at the end of the second half.

In the Under-17 semi-finals, AIA came from a goal down to tie up the scores at 1-1 then beat St James High 4-2 on penalty kicks while Irwin Academy beat Green Pond High 2-1 in the other game.

St James High took an early lead over AIA when Jaleel Barnett scored in the fifth minute.

AIA created a number of chances but had to wait until the 70th minute when Raheem Lee dribbled from close to the centre circle, rounded the goalkeeper and fired into an unprotected goal to level the scores.

After 20 minutes of extra time failed to decide a winner, the game went to penalty kicks where AIA won thanks to successful kicks from Lee, Nickane Brown, Romario Collins and Deshaun Talbert while Kayvon Donaldson and Reevado Dacosta scored for St James High as Sanjay Reece and Barnett both missed.

Green Pond, who were beaten 2-0 by Irwin Academy in their final regular season game, took the lead in the 14th minute when Dasshaun Barrett scored.

Irwin Academy stormed back late in the game as Kevin Wright converted a penalty in the 67th minute before Mark Buddie scored the winner in time added.
