Tifa, Jah Vinci for Strictly 2K
DANCEHALL artistes Tifa and Jah Vinci will be the headliners at Strictly 2K come May 26 at Mas Camp in St Andrew.
Ibrahim Konteh, co-director of the throwback festival, said both acts were intrinsically chosen.
“Tifa’s contribution to the 2000s cannot be ignored. Her hits like Spell It Out, Dash Out Move Ya Body, and Matie Wine were anthems for the ladies. Jah Vinci, on the other hand, is recognised as one of the most powerful voices of the 2000s. As a former member of Vybz Kartel’s Portmore Empire, he played a significant role in creating numerous hits. It was an obvious choice when we polled our consumers and received an overwhelming response,” Konteh told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.
Heavy D Chromatic, Kurt Riley, Copper Shot, and ZJ Chrome will be providing music.
Meanwhile, Konteh noted that Strictly 2K’s appeal lies within its ability to stay true to its brand.
“First and foremost, we must credit the great music of the 2000s. For a long time, it was overlooked, but Strictly 2K created a space where it could be fully enjoyed. This event is all about having genuine fun. We listen to our patrons’ feedback, execute flawlessly, and always feature top DJS. Our commitment is to consistently deliver what we promise to our loyal attendees,” he said.
Patrons are being invited to indulge in the best 2000s music in every genre, while attempting to show off their best retro outfits.
