RECORDING and visual artiste Delawness hopes that his track Solace, featuring London-based R&B singer Nsiya, will catapult his artistry to the top.

“My hope for this single is to resonate globally, delivering a profound relatable truth; embracing loneliness is not merely a transient phase, but a vital journey towards the understanding and deep appreciation of love. This track is crafted not just to climb the charts, but to echo in the hearts and minds across the globe, uniting listeners in a shared experience of introspection and emotional evolution,” he told the Jamaica Observer’s Splash.

The track was released on January 19 on the Emotica Republic label.

It was produced by Reggie Crux.

Delawness, whose real name is Lawrence L Deacon, is also a graphic designer, illustrator, producer, and songwriter who specialises in branding. “It was a year of challenges and triumphs, shaping a pivotal chapter in my career. Initially, it was a rough year that tested my resilience, yet these trials became part of my personal growth which allowed me to hone an array of vital life skills,” he said.

He added: “2023 was the year that was marked by monumental achievements — the successful completion, production, and release of my EP WAVES & PAIN. This body of work not only represented a personal milestone but made its mark on the Apple Music Hip Hop charts in both Jamaica and Barbados. This dual achievement on international charts is a testament to the EP’S resonant impact and my evolving artistry.”
