Ginjah’s Tun Up continues to rise on the charts

REGGAE artiste Ginjah continues to make inroads on regional reggae charts with the song Tun Up.

The song, produced by Tads Records and released in January, rises from #12 to #7 on the South Florida Reggae chart. Over on the Foundation Radio Network (New York) Reggae chart,

Tun Up steps up from #25 to #22.

“The song really came about based on the affection and admiration that I have for my woman. I’m always compliment­ing her, and so I decided to turn the compliment­s and affection into a song. And now, Tun Up is one of the most played songs for me on radio at present,” Ginjah said recently.

He added: “I feel elated to know that my music is making waves after all the challenges that I have faced. I’m more concerned about making good songs and songs that will stand the test of time while inspiring others. I am thankful for the song’s success neverthele­ss,” said Ginjah.

A few weeks ago, another song by Ginjah, Bashan (The Lord Says) peaked at #14 on the Foundation Radio Network New York Reggae chart.

Back on the South Florida Reggae chart, Faith Over Fear by Hopeton Lindo spends a second week at #1, while Can’t Stop Me From Smiling by Nadine Sutherland rises from #19 to #15.

The sole new entry comes in at #24, Positivity by Latty Guzang.

Now over on the Foundation Radio Network (New York) Reggae chart, Heartbeat by Richie Stephens clocks a second week in pole position, while Blessings by Taddy P and Red Fox climbs from #7 to #5.

YG Marley’s global hit Praise Jah in the Moonlight steps up from #29 to #22 in its second week, while Hold On Me by Morgan Heritage (27) and Heights by Bitty Mclean (#28) are new entries.

The Junonomina­ted song Stir This Thing by Ammoye featuring Turbulence takes over the #1 spot on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart.

On the Nigeria Hot 100 chart, One Love by Wizkid, which is featured on Bob Marley: One Love (Music Inspired by the Film) various artistes compilatio­n, rises to #12 in its second week on the chart.

Praise Jah in the Moonlight by YG Marley continues its trek on several European charts. In the UK, the song dips to #7 after peaking at #5 three weeks ago. On the Billboard Global 200, it backtracks from #11 to #14, while on Billboard’s Global 200 Excluding US chart it crashes from #10 to #19. On the Billboard Canadian Hot 100, it steps down from #20 to #25, while on the Billboard Hot 100, it falls from its #34 peak to #39.

Find Me Here (Blessings Find Me) by Trinidadia­n gospel reggae singer Sherwin Gardner re-enters the Billboard Gospel Digital Song Sales chart at #10. It peaked at #2 and spends a 5th week on the tally. On the Hot Gospel Songs chart, the song is steady at #23 in its 6th week.

Now onto the streaming and sales-driven Billboard Reggae Albums chart, Bob Marley and the Wailers remain at #1 for a 217th non-consecutiv­e week with Legend.

Best of Shaggy: The Boombastic Collection by Shaggy is #2, Dutty Classics Collection by Sean Paul is #3, while Greatest Hits by UB40 is #4.

World on Fire and Set in Stone by Stick Figure are #s 5 and 6, while Dutty Rock by Sean Paul rises to #7.

Stick Figure’s former chart-topper Wisdom (which removed Legend from #1 for a sole week), jumps back onto the chart at #8, while Bob Marley: One Love (Music Inspired by The Film by Various Artistes) is #9 and Bob Marley: One Love (soundtrack) by Bob falls to #10.
