Cops interdicte­d after nine men escape Denham Town lock-up

FOUR POLICEMEN have been interdicte­d following the escape of nine detainees from the west Kingston-based Denham Town Police Station lock-up yesterday.

The Constabula­ry’s Corporate Communicat­ions Unit said the nine men were discovered missing about 7:10 in the morning after making their escape by cutting away a ventilatio­n grille. Those on the run are:

Twenty-three-old Theodore Lawrence, otherwise called ‘Theo’, of Baugh Path, Tivoli Gardens, Kingston 14, who was charged with murder.

Kevin Thomas, 26, also known as ‘Tatan’, of McKenzie Drive, Tivoli Gardens, who was charged with wounding with intent and shooting with intent.

Nineteen-year-old Oshane Morgan, otherwise called ‘Grey Beard’, of Oxford Street, Denham Town, Kingston 14, who was charged with robbery and illegal possession of firearm.

Twenty-two-year-old Richard Richardson, also called ‘Ritchie’, of Golden Heights, Denham Town, who was charged with shooting with intent.

Alex Bailey, 23, of Majesty Gardens, Kingston 11, who was charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm.

Thirty-year-old Ian McBean, otherwise called ‘Pipe’, of Cling Cling Avenue, Kingston 11, who was charged with murder.

Twenty-three-old Stephen Burke, also known as called ‘Lucious’, of Hanover Street, Spanish Town, St Catherine, who was charged with affray, malicious destructio­n of property, and assaulting police.

Thirty-three-year-old Donovan Allen, otherwise known as ‘Bitter’, of John’s Road, Spanish Town, St Catherine, who was charged with robbery with aggravatio­n.

George Ballentine, 19, of Bedwood Gardens, Kingston 7, who was charged with murder and illegal possession of firearm.

Up to last night, a police team remains on the hunt for the men.
