-

OVER THE years, the annual BCIC, Couples Swept Away Open clay court tennis championship has successfully exposed young players to the international arena of the sport of tennis and has continued to be developed to internationally accepted standards.

The Championships, which began in 1991, has developed the reputation over the years as Jamaica’s premier open tennis championship and is the only clay court tournament, as well as the longest continuous tennis tournament, in Jamaica.

This year’s edition – which runs from Friday to Monday, Heroes’ Day – marks the 23rd anniversary of which Swept Away Resorts has hosted this local event, through which Jamaica has received worldwide recognition for its contribution to the sport of tennis.

According to Syrika Grizzle, sports manager at Swept Away, the annual clay court tournament is an excellent corporate marketing opportunity and her company will continue to do their best for the development of tennis in Jamaica.

CORPORATE CONTRIBUTION

“As a sports marketing tool considering the universal acceptance of the sport of tennis and the planned publicity surrounding the event, this event presents a unique opportunity for companies and individuals to contribute meaningfully towards a worthy cause – the social development and enthusiasm of the game is priceless,” Grizzle said.
