It fea­tures the pow­er­ful voices of a cast in­clud­ing ac­claimed English bari­tone Si­mon Keenly­side as Don Gio­vanni, Rus­sian so­prano Hi­bla Gerz­mava as Donna Anna, Swedish so­prano Malin Bys­trom as Donna Elvira, Ital­ian mezzo-so­prano Ser­ena Malfi as Zer­lina, Amer­i­can tenor Paul Ap­pleby as Don Ot­tavio, bass-bari­tone Adam Pla­chetka, (Prague, Czech Repub­lic) as Le­porello, Matthew Rose (bass, Brighton, Eng­land) as Masetto and South Korean bass Kwangchul Youn as the Com­menda­tore.

The Met: Live in HD’s trans­mis­sion of Mozart’s Don Gio­vanni had an es­ti­mated at­ten­dance of 71,975 in North Amer­ica, earn­ing a gross of US$1.7 mil­lion. It was seen live on more than 900 screens. An es­ti­mated ad­di­tional 103,225 peo­ple saw it live on 800 screens in 37 coun­tries in Europe, 11 coun­tries in Latin Amer­ica, Rus­sia, Egypt, Is­rael, Ja­maica (at the Carib 5 last Satur­day) and Morocco.
