THIS SUNDAY at 11:30 a.m. in the Palace Cineplex, the audience in Jamaica will have another chance to enjoy the magnificen­ce of Don Giovanni, under the capable guidance of Met principal conductor Fabio Luisi. It features the powerful voices of a cast including acclaimed English baritone Simon Keenlyside as Don Giovanni, Russian soprano Hibla Gerzmava as Donna Anna, Swedish soprano Malin Bystrom as Donna Elvira, Italian mezzo-soprano Serena Malfi as Zerlina, American tenor Paul Appleby as Don Ottavio, bass-baritone Adam Plachetka, (Prague, Czech Republic) as Leporello, Matthew Rose (bass, Brighton, England) as Masetto and South Korean bass Kwangchul Youn as the Commendato­re.

The Met: Live in HD’s transmissi­on of Mozart’s Don Giovanni had an estimated attendance of 71,975 in North America, earning a gross of US$1.7 million. It was seen live on more than 900 screens. An estimated additional 103,225 people saw it live on 800 screens in 37 countries in Europe, 11 countries in Latin America, Russia, Egypt, Israel, Jamaica (at the Carib 5 last Saturday) and Morocco.
