Continue to support Jamaica’s growth and development
THE GOVERNMENT of Jamaica extends heartfelt congratulations to the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) on the occasion of its 70th anniversary of sterling contribution to national development.
Statistics play a vital role in economic development and and a starting point for accountability and transparency in government. In addition, they engender fairness and culpability in the allocation of resources, which is in line with my government’s focus on equitable resource allocation.
Your brilliant team of dedicated workers who provide statistical information relating to the general activities and conditions of the people of Jamaica and all aspects of our economy must be commended. Your work in providing valuable statistics to guide planning, policy, and distribution of resources is critical as we continue to secure a better future for all our citizens.
You must also be commended for capitalising on the use of new technologies to improve the quality of service provided to local and international clients. You are undoubtedly on your way to fulfilling your vision.
Happy 70th anniversary! We wish for you every success as you continue
