Chinese player banned 8 months for doping
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) says it banned Shandong Luneng player Jin Jingdao for eight months after he tested positive for clenbuterol ahead of an Asian Champions League match.
Jingdao gave a sample in training before Shandong’s 3-1 loss at FC Seoul in the quarterfinals in August.
Details of the case will be published at a later date, the AFC said in a statement.
It was unclear if the 24-yearold Jin’s case involved eating contaminated meat. Doping cases involving clenbuterol in China are often linked to the anabolic agent being used in livestock farming.
