- Marc Stamp Gleaner Writer

KINGSTON COLLEGE (KC) advance to the ISSA-FLOW Manning Cup semifinals for the first time in many years when they defeated Bridgeport High 3-0 at the Prison Oval Complex in Spanish Town yesterday.

The famed Purples from North Street hit three first half goals courtesy of Renato Campbell in the 17th minute, Rashawn Mackison (20th) and Fabian Grant (33rd) for a well-deserved victory.

KC finished Group K on five points, the same as Charlie Smith, who edged St

Andrew Technical High School (STATHS) 1-0 in another game at Constant Spring.

KC scored five goals and conceded two times in their three second round games, while Charlie Smith netted three goals with two against.

Bridgeport suffered a late blow when substitute Shannon Elliston was ejected after a second yellow card in the 88th minute

KC started the game with more purpose and settled early. They went ahead and doubled the scoreline inside three minute.

In the second half, KC was pushed back by Bridgeport who came into their own. The Bridgeport team was denied by missed chances from faulty shooting.

KC’s back-line marshalled by their outstanding captain and central defender Javain Brown stood firm. From left: Leon Hosang, Oliver Clarke, Rachel McLarty, Cosma Earle, Paul Muschett, Tammy Hart, Bruce Hart plus dog, James Ransome, Roy Collins, Stefan Priestley, Belinda Morrow, Andrew Todd, Martin Hopwood, Stephen Todd, Richard Gomes, Colin Galant, Everton Morgan, Norman Marshall (partially hidden).
