Jamaica Energy Partners to create smiles through dental fair

JAMAICA ENERGY Partners (JEP) will seek to create smiles in Old Harbour today by hosting a dental fair which will give residents access to tooth examinations, cleaning and extractions.

The dental fair, themed Creating Smiles for Life, will be held at the Old Harbour Baptist Church, St Catherine and will commence at 10 a.m.

All services will be offered free of cost. JEP has a similar fair lined up for next week, November 18, in Fletcher’s Land.

Wartsila, JEP’s international partner, is cosponsor of the event alongside JEP.

JEP has hosted and sponsored many health fairs in the past in different communities, but this will be the first time hosting a dental fair.

The company’s president and CEO, Wayne McKenzie, encouraged persons to take their health seriously.

“Your health is your biggest investment. JEP has (been) committed to providing increased access to these services at absolutely no cost to the patrons. We encourage everyone to take their health seriously as we continue to touch our neighbours, one community at a time,” MacKenzie said.

During the lunch hour (12pm), JEP will also visit the Blackwood Gardens Basic School in the community to donate stationary items to the infants.

We have adopted that school, and as a result, in showing our commitment to the community and our interest in the development of young minds in Old Harbour, we find it necessary to provide them with school material to improve and enhance their education,” McKenzie told The Gleaner.

McKenzie highlighted that JEP usually hosts a back-to-school treat for the basic school, but that did not happen, hence the timing of the event.

“The time is a bit later, but we still want to recognise and alleviate the financial burden of the parents,” he said.
