Ocean Style Fashion Showcase promises celeb-filled weekend

THE SECOND city will be abuzz with local and international celebrities once again for the ninth staging of the Ocean Style FashionShowcase Weekend, slated for Thursday, November 24 to Sunday, November 27, with a series of activities encapsulating the best of fashion, entertainment and golf being offered in the Caribbean. “The Ocean Style FashionShowcase Weekend really gives us the opportunity to stage a first-class series of events that truly showcase the exceptional talent that comes out of Jamaica and the Caribbean. Over the years, the FashionShowcase Weekend has hosted over 40 international celebrities who continue to support our events and spread the word about their experience in Jamaica. We are thankful to have the support of our amazing sponsors and partners who continue to believe in our brand, a brand that prides itself on providing guests with high quality events and an unforgettable Jamaican experience”, Ocean Style founder Douglas Gordon said at a recent media brunch, held at the Secrets Resorts and Spas. This year’s staging will host an array of celebrities, including Blackish actor, Anthony Anderson, Selita Ebanks, Beenie Man, George Lopez, Christopher Martin, Frankie Muniz, Vivica Fox, Don Benjamin and Liane V.

The weekend will start with the Dulce de Leche Lingerie and Swimwear Show on Thursday evening, followed by the ocean Style ‘Drive Into Luxury’ event sponsored by Sagicor, at the Fairview Sagicor office. Clients will have an opportunity to sign up for a MasterCard Black or Gold card and, in return, ATL will give them the opportunity to test-drive a new luxury car and also receive a discount of up to J$100,000 on the purchase of a new car.

Other activities for the highly anticipated weekend include the Icon Award Dinner, in which International reggae and dancehall artiste Beenie Man, along with model turned-actress Selita Ebanks will be honoured with the Icon Award, followed by the Eyes Wide Shut All-White event that will be staged at The Rose Hall Great House on Friday night with live performances by Beenie Man and Christopher Martin.

On Saturday, patrons will be able to participate in the 8th Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament at Cinnamon Hill, will which will be hosted by actor Anthony Anderson. This will be followed by the Ocean Style FashionShowcase, featuring designers from Jamaica and the Caribbean, including Rhion Romany, Lubica, Neahlis and Heather Jones, along with International models Brodie Nero, Don Benjamin and Crystal Cunningham.

The weekend will close with a Celebrity Volley ball Tournament and Beach Party on the Sunday.
