KINGSTON COLLEGE’S Aryamany Rodgers continued his fine forms as he posted a commanding win in the boys Open 1,500m at Saturday’s staging of the JAAA-Puma Development Meet at Kirkvine, Manchester. Rodgers, who has been dominant on the road so far this season in 5k events and who posted a quick 15:18 in the 5,000 metres at the Purewater-Danny Williams Development meet at Jamaica College recently, took the chance to show his all-round ability. Leading from start to finish, Rodgers pulled away from his rivals to post a good 4:17.58. Rajees Haye of Maggoty High was second in 4:29.57 with third going to Teahjmair Harrison of Hydel in 4:31.86. Like she did a week ago when she dominated the 100m, Edwin Allen’s Tia Clayton was too good for her rivals as she won the Class Four 200m in 23.78 seconds. Aliyah Blair of St. Jago, who defeated Clayton several months ago at the JTA Primary Championships, had to settle for second in 24.74 seconds, with her teammate Brianna Lyston coming in third in 24.89 seconds.

IMPRESSIVE FORM

Last year’s double Class Three sprint champion Kevona Davis continued her impressive form this season to win the Class Three event in 23.16 seconds, as Sashieka Steele was second in 23.34, with third going to Seleisa Palmer of Edwin Allen in 23.73.

There was a sweep in Class One for Edwin Allen led by World Under-20 representative Patrice Moodie, who was first in 23.74, as teammates Shellece Clarke, 23.83, and Kimone Muschette 23.90, finished second and third, respectively .

In Class Two, it was Holmwood Technical’s Kishawna Wallace who came out on top in 23.32 seconds ahead of Vere Technical’s Ti-Anna Dawkins, 23.46 with third going to Kaja Francis of Manchester High in 23.97.

G.C. Foster College and MVP Track Club athletes shared the spoils among club competitors. G.C. Foster College swept the men’s Open 400m with Colin King taking the event in 51.06 seconds, ahead of teammates Vashaun Grant, 51.26 and Shemar Brown, 51.91.

Kemar Eldemire took the men’s 800m for G.C. Foster College in 2:04.60 ahead of Fabian Hutchinson of Knox, 2:04.66 and Rogay Henry (G.C. Foster) 2:05.90.

Shereca Hemmings and Jhevaughn Young of MVP took the top places in the women’s and men’s 200m. Henry won the women’s event in 23.98, while Young’s winning time was 20.93.

Kingston College athletes dominated the 400m, taking two spots in two of the three classes. In Class One, there was a clean sweep of the top three spots for the North Street school. Nathaniel Bann was first here, finishing in 51.11 ahead of Jhevaughn Matherson, 51.34, with Romel Plummer taking third in 51.63.
