A FASHIONABLE CAUSE

- Tickoya Joseph Assistant Lifestyle Editor

FASHION IS always changing and, this year, the Sigma Run has turned its fashion statement up a notch. Trendy bracelets have been added to the catalogue in support of the 2017 Sigma Run.

The bracelets, skilfully designed by Gianna Fakhourie of Original Arm Candy, raise the bar over the regular paraphernalia such as T-shirts, mugs and balloons. “We are constantly looking to expand our charity line to raise as much funds as possible and we try to support as many causes as possible,” shares Garfene Grandison, assistant manager for public relations and corporate social responsibility at Sagicor. A contribution of $2,000 to the Sigma Run earns you a gorgeous bracelet.

Every Original Arm Candy bracelet is carefully handcrafted by jewellery artisan Gianna Fakhourie here in Jamaica. The commitment to her craft is conveyed through the quality of her work. “Each bracelet is handmade either by me or by a member of my small team. The one requirement for you to be on my team is passion. If you are passionate, you will be focused, you will be diligent, you will care about your work and about the quality of the bracelet you produce. My team has that. I insist on it,” Fakhourie states.

“We want people to feel that they are a part of the give-back initiative while walking away with a special lifelong memento,” states Grandison.
